I was born and raised in Southern California with a multiracial upbringing. My father grew up in New Jersey, and my mother grew up in rural south Texas where her family was one of two Japanese families in town. I earned two bachelor’s degrees, Philosophy and French, from Cal State Long Beach. Part of my time was spent on study abroad in France. I earned my master’s degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign.
I have been a librarian for nearly 30 years at many different types of libraries, including corporate, law and public libraries before finding myself here at Cypress College.
When I’m not working, I spend my time with my family. I have two sons, both about to graduate, one from Cal Poly with a Statistics degree, the other from high school. They make me a better person and librarian.
I hope your time at Cypress is enhanced by using the library and all the student services. Let me know if I can help you with your research!
