Mission Statement

The Library reflects the vision and mission of Cypress College; striving towards providing a safe and innovative learning environment that encourages, supports, and embraces diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Cypress College Library is dedicated to supporting academic and career pathways for our students and providing library users with high-quality experience-based learning in developing information-seeking abilities appropriate for individual levels of scholarship. The Library provides access to resources beyond the physical boundaries of the building and teaches foundational and transformative concepts through library faculty-led instruction in information literacy.

Program SLOs

Upon completion of library instruction or information inquiry, the student will be able to:

• identify, retrieve, and organize potential information resources
• evaluate information resources critically for authority, timeliness, and relevancy
• reflect personal responsibility by avoiding plagiarism and citing information resources according to a standard documentation style
